To have the student achieve and develop to the maximum degree and have the student develop his talents to the fullest extent.
Mission
A school program must provide many levels of advancement. Our student, if capable, must be able to enter any field he/she chooses and succeed due to his K-12 preparation.
Secondly, but just as important, a school program must be very broad so that each child can identify his talent with some specific aspect of the school. It is our intent that the child will have ample opportunity to discover his/her niche in life from our broad course offerings and many activities.
Old Demopolis Public School
History
Demopolis City Schools began in 1901, when the Demopolis City Council voted to give $2,000 to be used to start the public school system. Initially there was both a boys' school and a girls' school. In 1912, the old school that stands on Main Street was built. It contained grades 1-11 at that time. Since then the Demopolis City School System has grown to include two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school that educates children in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grades.
